NY AG Orders Televangelist Jim Bakker To Halt Advertising Of Alleged Coronavirus Cure

112

New York’s Attorney General Letitia James sent a cease-and-desist order to televangelist Jim Bakker, ordering him to stop promoting an alleged cure for coronavirus, reported ABC News.

In early February, on the “The Jim Bakker Show,” guest Sherrill Sellman claimed that “Silver Solution” is a remedy for the deadly coronavirus, that at the time, was spreading across China. Here’s a snippet of the broadcast

When Sellman was asked if the coronavirus elixir would cure Covid-19, she replied, “Let’s say it hasn’t been tested on this strain of the coronavirus, but it’s been tested on other strains of the coronavirus, and it has been able to eliminate it within 12 hours.”

Since the broadcast, Bakker has been selling “Silver Solution” on his website for $300 for a pack of 12.

“Your show’s segment may mislead consumers as to the effectiveness of the Silver Solution product in protecting against the current outbreak,” the cease-and-desist order said. “Any representation on the Jim Bakker Show that its Silver Solution products are effective at combating and/or treating the 2019 novel coronavirus violates New York law.”

James’ office asked Bakker to add a disclaimer on all Silver Solution products of how the FDA has not evaluated the product’s effectiveness against the virus.

“In addition to being mindful about our health, we must also beware of unscrupulous actors who attempt to take advantage of this fear and anxiety to scam or deceive consumers,” James said in a statement.

Dr. Peter Lurie, president of the Center for Science in the Public Interest, told Inside Edition that Bakker’s Silver Solution is nothing more than snake oil.

“It’s an absolute outrage that they’re pushing this product. There’s no proof about its effectiveness,” Lurie said. “Stay away from the product. All you’re doing is wasting your money!”

Lurie has been petitioning the FDA and FTC to take action against Bakker “to halt this fraud on the public.”

Back in 2018, Bakker was pumping an imminent apocalypse, selling boatloads of doomsday prepper food kits.

Capitalizing on fear is big business for Bakker as it appears his followers now have a ‘magic coronavirus cure’ and doomsday prepper food kits for the virus crisis sweeping across America that could soon be labeled a pandemic.

  1. “Snake oil”?

The liberal vegans and naturists should be ‘outraged’ over that.

There is research backing the use of colloidal silver. Anyone can read up on it. It’s nothing new. The use of natural or self-help products are not promoted or supported by the AMA, big-pharma, physicians and hospitals because there’s no profit in it. They don’t want you to help yourself and cut them out of and income opportunity. Medicine is BIG BUSINESS!
Consumers should be able to decide for themselves without some crooked state attorney sticking her nose in other people’s business.

Funny how scientists and research labs have used silver to control viruses for eons; but Dr. Peter Lurie, president of the (leftist, nanny-state, hate-Trump) Center for Science in the Public Interest, in DC, says it’s snake oil . . . Researchers, CDC, WHO, and many others have stated COVID-19 is nothing more than a version of the common cold virus (also a corona-type) and flu viruses can be killed. You can protect yourself by any ordinary means you’d normally use to avoid to common flu.
There is no vaccine for humans, for any virus, until well-after the current strains have been around a while. It takes several months to develop a specific vaccine. Vaccines are man-made chemical productions. Money is involved. Flu shots are promoted heavily, even though there isn’t evidence of them keeping you out of the hospital in the weeks and months following the shot (because the shot was developed from last year’s virus strains). Do some homework.

Nature has handled viruses since the big-bang. Plant-based chemicals like garlic and oregano oil, compounds like silver, nickel, zinc and selenium have been proven to combat and kill viruses. Viruses do not like pure oxygen either.
You’d think the namby-pamby demonrats and dummy-crats would appreciate that, given that a bunch of them identify as vegan or vegetarians . . . They love labels.

I personally don’t give a hoot about whether it’s Jim Bakker or anyone else. The promoter does not matter. It’s the busy-body nanny-state corrupt New York’s Attorney General Letitia James, who wants consumers to “beware of unscrupulous actors who attempt to take advantage of this fear and anxiety” (over Wuhan Virus); but look how the state of New York is acting (not to mention HER demon history). It’s not “unscrupulous” to claim the president is responsible for the outbreak, or that “millions will die!”, or that they flip-off concern when a demonrat is involved? Isn’t it unscrupulous for an attorney general to swear in with a promise to take down a duly-elected president “by any means necessary” as her main objective for the office (won simply because of her gender, skin color, and Trump hatred)?

They want the president ‘tested’ simply because he was in the same building with someone who tested positive at CPAC; but none of the demonrat politicians and DNC operatives have been chided or criticized over the APAC ‘outbreak’ — where many attendees tested positive, some hospitalized, and all the politicians have gone on about their daily demon activities without worry.

    It’s simple harassment and control.

    It’s only a concern if it’s a conservative . . . Anything to bash Trump.
