LATEST: The number of cops injured 2020’s ‘mostly peaceful’ protests revealed

Remember over the summer of 2020 how some Democratic mayors and governors wrote off the destructive, civil unrest plaguing the nation as the “summer of love” or “mostly peaceful” protests?

The mainstream media who carried that message and tried to make it stick will have some answering to do, as a new report from the Major Cities Chiefs Association tells a vastly different tale - a tale that revealed thousands of police officers were assaulted during the time period, not to mention the mass destruction and looting that also took place.

According to Town Hall, the MCCA report analyzed data from May 25 to July 31, 2020, a time period when a staggering 8,700 protests took place in various parts of America in the wake of the death of George Floyd and other African American men who were involved in police shootings.

Not surprisingly, out of those nearly 9000 protests, roughly 574 of them were classified as “violent,” where destruction of cities, taking over of police precincts and mass looting occurred.

“This violence was limited to only 7% of all protests and in most cases, the acts were perpetrated by individuals or small groups that infiltrated the larger protests. Nonetheless, the sheer volume of protests, combined with the level of civil disobedience and existence of some ultra-violent events, created an extraordinarily challenging environment for law enforcement agencies,” the MCCA report stated.

The shocking and sad report went into further detail about the number of law enforcement officers who suffered injuries during that time - and that’s not counting some of the police officers who actually lost their lives.

“In cities where violence did occur, assaults on police officers, looting, and arson were the most common criminal activities. Approximately, 72% of major city law enforcement agencies had officers harmed during the protests,” the report said.

Many cities had dozens of officers injured in timespans as short as one week. One unnamed law enforcement agency reported that 462 of their officers were reported in one instance of violent protests in their precinct.

Further proving that a majority of the so-called “demonstrations” were nothing less than a prime opportunity for thugs to steal expensive items, the report found that looting occurred extremely frequently during the civil unrest period.

“Looting was also a common occurrence (2,385 instances), with 62% of major city law enforcement agencies indicating that at least one incident of looting occurred in their cities,” the report indicated.

Another common occurrence during these “peaceful protests” was the burning of police vehicles. In nearly every live shot of any news station covering the riots, one could almost always count on seeing police vehicles burning or otherwise seriously damaged. The report gathered those statistics as well, painting an ugly picture of destruction.

“Several agencies also had police precincts set on fire and hundreds of police cars were significantly damaged throughout the various protests across the U.S. One agency alone reported 300 police cars damaged to include 19 that were fully engulfed in flames,” the report said.

The bottom line is that not a SINGLE one of these acts of civil unrest brought about meaningful change in the Black community or in the realm of “police reform.” All it did was further divide the country between those who believe in law and order and those who seize on every media-backed opportunity to “protest” in the name of “social justice.”
