Joe Biden just went full Corn Pop on a CBS reporter on Tuesday after being asked about his decision to attack Bernie Sanders, despite clearing the air over a dispute on Social Security the day before.
The former Vice President and 2020 candidate was leaving a campaign event in Mason City, Iowa on Wednesday, ignoring several questions by CBS‘s Ed O’Keefe about the ongoing beef – then spinning around and approaching the stunned reporter while jabbering: “Why, why, why, why, why, why, why! You’re getting nervous, man. Calm down! It’s OK!” as he poked him in the chest.
“He apologized for saying that I was corrupt,” answered Biden, adding “He didn’t mention anything about whether or not I was telling the truth about Social Security.”

As we noted over the weekend, Biden and Sanders have been in an ongoing dispute over the former Vice President’s record on Social Security.
Sanders and his campaign have repeatedly mentioned Biden’s ‘40 years trying to cut Social Security‘ – however they mischaracterized a 2018 Biden speech in which they claim he “lauded” former GOP House Speaker Paul Ryan’s efforts to cut Social Security. Biden stated later in the same speech that America needs a progressive tax code that “raises enough revenue to make sure that the Social Security and Medicare can stay – still needs adjustments, but can stay.
On Tuesday, Biden accepted an apology from Sanders, only to hit back at Bernie in Wednesday comments.
“I find it amazing that we go back and look at statements and many of them, most of them [are] taken out of context of 10, 30, 35 years ago,” Biden told MSNBC‘s “Morning Joe.”
“It’s like me going back and pointing out how Bernie voted against the Brady Bill five times while I was trying to get it passed when he was in the House, or how he voted to protect gun manufacturers,” Biden continued. “He’s made up for that, he’s indicated that was [the] past.”
