Republican Sen. Lisa Murkowsk of Alaska is giving hints that she could be one of the very few in the GOP to vote in favor of impeachment.
Murkowski has not been a major supporter of President Donald Trump voting, and speaking against him on many occasions, and voted no on confirming Brett Kavanaugh.
She has been the quintessential definition of the acronym RINO (Republican In Name Only) and she continues to be.
This week the senator that Democrats love again sided against the president and Senate Majority Leader and Kentucky Sen. Mitch McConnell.
“And in fairness, when I heard that I was disturbed,” the senator said to Alaskan news network KTUU in an interview, referencing Sen. McConnell’s decision to coordinate with The White House.
“To me it means that we have to take that step back from being hand in glove with the defense, and so I heard what leader McConnell had said, I happened to think that that has further confused the process,” she said.
The 62-year-old senator also took a dig at House Speaker and California Rep. Nancy Pelosi and the impeachment process in the House.
“Speaker Pelosi was very clear, very direct that her goal was to get this done before Christmas,” she said, disappointed in the rushed impeachment.
But, true to her RINO form, she echoed Democrat talking points that make it appear that she wants witnesses to be heard in the Senate.
“How we will deal with witnesses remains to be seen,” saying that The House should have gone to court to make witnesses testify.
She said she wants a “full and fair process,” but insisted that she will not prejudge the case as many Republicans and Democrats have.
“For me to prejudge and say there’s nothing there or on the other hand, he should be impeached yesterday, that’s wrong, in my view, that’s wrong,” she said.
What is even more wrong is consistently being on the wrong side of history and siding with the Democrats.
She did not vote for Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh, she did not vote in favor or repealing Obamacare and she has been a critic of President Trump.
Time and again she has shown that she has no loyalty to the Republican Party which is why her stance on impeachment is not a surprise.
She should either get with the program, if she wants the RNC to keep helping her get elected, or change parties.
Tell the Rino to hit the road. McConnell confusing issues? No this Rino is working with the Dems/Rinos to put out that concern so that Pelosi can continue to dictate to the Senate her terms. And this gives the Fake Media ammo to continue the gushing of “Saint Pelosi”. BTW, Ms. Rino, read YOUR Constitution. House is Prosecutor, Senate is Jury. Gee I never heard of a jury that was allowed to question witnesses. Juries deliberate and look at the facts of the case.
Senator McConnell, tell this Rino to either BE a Republican, or switch parties. Why should any Republican money for campaigns be given to someone who wants to change the party to be Democrat lite.

This whole issue is very disturbing! As a person that supports the Constitutional law above and beyond either party loyalty, I agree that regardless of the outcome this should have been a bipartisan handled case from the start. My choice to become Republican has always been based on my belief that the Republican representatives seem to be the ones always seeking the truth good or bad and the truth is something I highly appreciate and feel I have a right to demand from the government that is hired by and works for me and my fellow Americans!
But the fact that the Dems acted clearly in a partisan manner leaving no option for the Republicans, but to do the same, is yet one more reason the federal government needs to be re-educated in their true duty the American people!
On one hand, I am still puzzled as to why such a seasoned politician as McConnel would have made a statement like he did vowing to acquit regardless of the evidence, and that the proceedings would be decided by coordinating with the White House?
His statement opened the door for Pelosi to make the decision she made to hold off submitting the case for trial.
The only conclusion I can come to is either he has completely lost his mind and should consider retirement, or that this was his intention all along. If she doesn’t submit the case the president is not officially impeached, in which case he is far more clever than I had ever credited him to be.
On the other hand, without having any information personally about her to draw from, I can see how people like this Alaskan Senator (and there have been whispers from both Republicans and Democrats) who tend to sit on the fence of partisanship claiming her desire for a fair and honest preceding are easily confused when her own party screams at the house for the unfair impeachment inquiry, but then hears the Senate leader announces his intention to act in the same way when the case is submitted to the senate. Frankly, when I first heard McConnel’s announcement I was shocked he would openly make such an obvious partisan comment that had the potential to have a serious backlash on him both personally and professionally!
Unfortunately, I think it shows that the Republican leadership is not sharing with the rest of the team what the strategy is to win the long game and that also has the potential to become disastrous!
Assuming McConnel’s announcement was indeed strategic in nature and directed specifically at Pelosi’s need to win a guilty verdict in the Senate, this senator may have reacted differently had she been made aware that the intent of McConnel to “show his hand” was not to announce a goose/gander outcome, but rather a ploy intended to scare Pelosi into withholding submission and to seek other options. His announcement and Pelosi’s expected reaction also whether intentional or not, in essence, has thrown Pelosi a lifeline to save face for giving in to party pressure to move forward on a case she knew she would never win and that could kill her career.
The bottom line is that this whole impeachment sham has stood in the way of this government doing the work they are supposed to be doing! I give great props to our wonderful president for accomplishing all that he has despite the roadblocks and daily attacks to him and his family. They have all been very resilient against his opposition cheap shots! I am so hoping that by the time his re-election has been won that the rest of our government officials will be determined to work for us rather than their own agendas and spend the next four years working with him to improve the country’s economic growth and in the economic world status!
I think Senator McConnell sees the sham and stated it. House is supposed to prove without a shadow of a doubt that their was a REAL issue that the President committed. They didn’t. House Minority Republicans blew it out of the water with the ONE Fact witness. The rest of them was just Democratic “fluff”. Also, with Clinton’s impeachment, Senate also worked with the White House.
Why should Senator McConnell allow this to continue in the Senate? I for one, as an independent voter first wanted a full trial, but now realize that if it does happen it legitimizes this farce. If this Alaskan Republican senator didn’t feel the need to watch what was going on in the House, that’s on her.
In 2020, if the Republicans do not regain the House, this political “short” game of Pelosi’s will continue. And to be perfectly honest, hope Alaska shows this Senator to the curb, especially what was allowed to happen to Judge Kavanaugh. Allowing women to accuse with no evidence. Gee just like is happening to President Trump while protecting a whistleblower.
