This is starting to feel like a Twilight Zone episode.
Having been embarrassed by Mueller’s mumblefest, it seems Democrats have merely cranked up their conspiracy theories in an effort to save themselves from mental health crises.
California Rep. Ted Lieu was the best example by far (which is saying something with Rep. Swalwell on the committee) as he gloated that, during his discussion with Special Counsel, Mueller dropped a potential bombshell that the reason he did not indict Trump for obstructing the Russia probe was because of a Justice Department office of legal counsel opinion that prohibits indicting sitting presidents.
“The reason again that you did not indict Donald Trump is because of [Office of Legal Counsel] opinion stating that you cannot indict a sitting president, correct?” Lieu asked Mueller in the hearing.
“That is correct,” Mueller said.
This seemed to contradict Mueller’s own previous comments and his report, but nonetheless, Lieu excitedly took to Twitter to proclaim “nobody should be above the law” and various leftists quickly created memes suggesting #LockHimUp etc…

But - and it’s a big but… as Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross notes, before Democrats could celebrate too much, Mueller corrected his testimony when he appeared hours later before the House Intelligence Committee for a second round of testimony about his Russia investigation…
“Now before we go to questions, I want to add one correction to my testimony this morning,” Mueller began in his opening remarks.
“I want to go back to one thing that was said this morning by Mr. Lieu, who said, and I quote, ‘you didn’t charge the president because of the OLC opinion.’”
“That is not the correct way to say it,” he said, adding, “as we say in the report, and as I said in the opening, we did not reach a determination as to whether the president committed a crime.”
Crushing the dreams of every leftist.
But - and here’s the leap towards the irrational and mentally ill - Lieu suggested to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer during an interview later in the day that “somebody got to” Robert Mueller to force the former special counsel to correct his testimony. “[Y]ou say Mueller fully understood your question. Doesn’t Mueller’s correction, which he later provided, prove otherwise?” Blitzer asked.
“This is what’s so odd about that exchange. Special counsel Robert Mueller agreed that the OLC opinion prevented a sitting president from being indicted, and then the Republican member after me asked him a series of questions to try to get him to walk it back, and he did not do that.”
“And then it wasn’t until there was a recess with the Intel committee that he started to walk some of it back,” said Lieu.
“I don’t know who got to him. I don’t know who talked to him, but that was very odd, what he did.”
Blitzer asked Lieu, “What are you suggesting? … Are you saying he only did that because of pressure from someone?”
“I don’t know,” said Lieu, “but he clearly answered the way he answered to me, and then he had numerous times to walk that back by the next Republican member who asked him a series of questions on the exact same issue trying to get him to walk it back.”
Lieu then took one more step towards his insanity by analogizing the entire episode to a ham sandwich!!! We shit you not!

So Mueller corrected his earlier statement, but Schumer and Lieu and some other democrats continue to tell and spread deliberate lies. Mueller looked like a bumbling fool that did not even know what was in the Mueller Report and it is unbelievable that Mueller stated he was not aware of Fusion GPS or that Fusion GPS was funded by Hillary and the DNC.
What the Demonrats fail to honor is the bedrock of American jurisprudence… the accused is presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond the shadow of a reasonable doubt. Mr. Mueller disgraced himself, and brought shame on all Federal prosecutors, by making the remark that they could not exonerate Mr. Trump. Congressman Ratcliffe put him straight by asking if in Mueller’s memory, this standard had been applied to anyone other than Mr. Trump. Mueller said no. In doing so, Mueller admitted to an unlawful standard being applied, and proving yet again that this was indeed a witch hunt as alleged by Mr. Trump. JMO

Now, because Lieu doesn’t like Mueller’s testimony, a mysterious “somebody” must have “gotten to him”. Seriously? Have you forgotten who Bob Mueller is? Yo refresh your memory, Mueller is a decorated Marine Captain and combat veteran, and former Director of the FBI, among other things. Mueller was the Democrats’ boy from the get-go. SEVENTEEN of his investigators were Democrats and Clinton supporters. Weissman is the real author of that report and we all know who he is. HE should’ve testified; not Mueller. My guess is Mueller didn’t read the report because he did not appear to have control of the facts in the report, which made him look unprepared, or worse. The truth is that they needed the reputation of Bob Mueller to legitimize their politically motivated hit piece on a duly elected president-nothing more. Even if a sitting president COULD be indicted, the report did not contain enough “evidence” to indict a ham sandwich. Now, because the Democrats are unhappy that Mueller didn’t put a rope around trump’s neck, they want to waste MORE time and tax dollars on their own investigation. I think the only thing that has gotten to Mueller is a touch of Alzheimers. His mental status is diminishing. Over the last 2 1/2 yrs. Maybe thats Y he didn’t want to testify for fear of people finding out how bad it is.
He depended on his team of lawyer to get him through the investigation.
My father has Alzheimers he can remember things in his pass to a Tee, but anything new goes in one ear out the other. He remembers nothing, he goes by what people R saying so its not as noticeable to others unless its a long conversation. He use to make its seem like a joke until things got worse.

Not much doubt in my mind that Mueller was likely in the earlier stages of Alzheimer’s when he was appointed and swiftly progressed…more swiftly than the investigation! The way someone got to Mueller, is that probably one of his team said he had better correct his testimony. To give the Dems what they want, they would have to get him to commit perjury for going against his report. They didn’t want Mueller to have to go into court and defend himself again. It would expose the criminal and biased acts of his team. They didn’t want that, so STICK TO THE SCRIPT. He had to correct his statement or see the whole investigation exposed, for the partisan sham it was.
The Demoncrats have lost another round with Trump. If they would work for us citizens instead of trying to impeach a great president they might do something nice for us Americans. If Trump committed a crime, I think that they could “reach a determination” after years of investigation. If they could NOT reach a determination, Trump is innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
