MSNBC Anchor On Avenatti Arrest: “My Head Is Officially Going To Explode”

Monday has probably been the single most embarrassing day for members of “the resistance” and their partners in the cable news media since Nov. 7, 2016. Not only did Pulitzer prize winning journalist Glenn Greenwald trash the Russian collusion narrative as a “total fraud and scam” and “the saddest media spectacle I’ve ever seen,” but the arrest of former Stormy Daniels attorney, one-time 2020 wannabe and prominent Trump antagonist Michael Avenatti has sent cable news reporters combing through their feeds to hastily delete any embarrassing tweets and photos.

Before Avenatti’s myriad personal scandals - ranging from physical abuse to stiffing former employees - finally caught up with him, he was a darling on left-leaning shows that aligned themselves with the “#resistance” - mostly on MSNBC and CNN.

And now that he has been indicted by two different sets of federal prosecutors (on opposing coasts, no less) for trying to extort more than $20 million from Nike (a blue-chip company, no less), these same journalists who cozied up to Avenatti and helped inflate his presidential ambitions now find themselves in an extremely awkward position.

Understandably, Avenatti’s arrest, which seemingly came out of nowhere, was a lot to process for the pundit set. And no one articulated this sense of frustration and utter embarrassment better than MSNBC anchor Ali Velshi, who said Monday afternoon that his “head is going to officially explode” after news that Avenatti had been arrested on charges of extortion, bank fraud and embezzling money from clients broke.

“My head is officially going to explode,” Velshi said to NBC News Investigations reporter Tom Winter. “I don’t understand what this is about.”

Velshi then complimented Avenatti, calling him “one of the finest people in American in terms of his ability to garner publicity”… which of course is largely thanks to organizations like CNN and, drumroll, MSNBC, who for a year were delighted in granting him a generous podium to address the nation.

To put all of this in context: Avenatti was booked on cable news shows - primarily CNN and MSNBC - roughly 200 times in 2018. That’s a lot of air time for America’s favorite “creepy porn lawyer.”

  2. As the fraud from the Socialists on the Left continues to unravel, it will be interesting to see how the media spins it. No conspiracy? The left cannot accept this. Yes, there were people who were arrested for not telling the truth or, at least, not being consistent with it, but no collusion was found. That is a shame since Palosi, Clinton, and the rest of the swamp have done their best to destroy the conservative (anti-Socialist) right but are only getting crumbs because their entire platform was built on the stuff one finds in the pens at the Rodeo, after the bull riding contests.

    • The biggest reason that some of these folks were found guilty of lying to the FBI or whomever, is not necessarily because they lied. Let me give you an example of what I mean:

      When Jeff Sessions was being grilled in his Senate confirmation hearings to be Attorney General, he was asked whether or not he had had any dealings with Russians? Now, in his mind, he thought that they meant in his capacity of working for trumps campaign. But he was chairman of the Senate Judiciary committee. And he have been a senator for a long time. So of course he was going to have met with Russians from time to time. He wasn’t thinking about the question In the way that they were asking it. So in his mind he answered “no”. And they said that he was lying because they had photos of him meeting with Russian ambassadors etc back in the day and stuff like that. So it made him look like a liar and that was why he had to recuse himself.

      The way the FBI would do it, they would ask you about something you did two or three years ago. And you could honestly not remember that. Then, they produce somebody who says you did that thing and charge you with perjury or lying to the FBI. The thing is maybe the person that they brought to contest your version of the story is lying? But they don’t care about that. All they care about is that they can get you for lying in their mind and hope that they can use you to squeeze Trump.

  3. Great to see,,, I think over the next couple years we’re going to see more and more libs being arrested from Obama all the way down to floor sweepers for all kinds of crimes. Each person arrested will be singing like little birds, and we may start seeing a lot suicides or accidental deaths,you know,, shooting their self 6 times in the back of their heads, will be interesting to watch

    • They will never get Obama. If they went after Obama everyone on the liberal side and all of the media would scream “racism”. They would say stuff like: “This is just a bunch of white people trying to undo the first black president’s presidency”. And that would cause the FBI etc. to back off because nobody wants to be called a racist.

        • That would be interesting. Obama would “forfeit” his 8 years in the White House, officially making Joe Biden the President for those 8 years. And, since Biden has already “served” his 8 years as President, he would be no longer is eligible to run in 2020.

        • May your words be prophetic, but since it may never come to pass, may the fleas of a thousand camels infest the crotch and armpits of Obama, Hillary Clinton, Pelosi, Maxine Waters, Schumer, and all the MSNBC and CNN anchors. Add Colbert, Meyers, Kimmel, and Corden. to the list.

  4. One of the CNN reporters was helping him extort Nike. Does CNN need money, or was the reporter going to stick part of the 20 million in his own pocket?

Estimates of $25,000,000.00 to $40,000,000.00 dollars to find out the same thing Trump has been telling the Dems all along!   11. Makes one wonder how those on MSNBC, CNN, ABC and other mainstream media outlets feel, having aligned themselves with those who are not quite who they protrayed themselves to be. Perhaps they knew some of the “mind blowing” things all along, but having embedded themselves so deeply into their BS, they couldn’t backpeddle themselves out of the horrible situation and still save face. That’s what happens when one tries so hard to take another person, or in this case, another political party down. What a tangled web they weave… The old saying, “You are a reflection of the company you keep”, is so very, very true. It amazes me that so many are willing to fall on their swords, trying to discredit our President, when in reality, those they are aligning themselves with, would throw them under the bus in a heartbeat, as we have seen during the Mueller investigation. When I was growing up, a good reputation meant everything, but today, money and greed obviously takes center stage. Many in the news, as well as in the news media prove to us every single day just how true this is. Pathetic!!

The Democrats from OBAMA on down now need to be investigated to find out just who started this scam and how many people were involved and everyone including Adam Shiff and john Brennan and whoever else said they had positive proof that there was collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign need to be indicted for fraud because this scheme to overthrow a sitting president cost the taxpayers $25 million or more. These so called American politicians aided by the fake liberal news outlets have impaired a sitting president from carrying on the most sensitive discussions with leaders of foreign countries because in their eyes he might be removed at any time from office and if he dealt with them on mutual respect he was blasted for being soft and when he was tough he was going to get us in a war . To these politicians nothing else mattered even the security of their own country except to get Trump and overthrow the election

Talk about COLLUSION….They have been involved in a criminal conspiracy to do the EXACT THING that they themselves did….Collude and conspire with Russia to unseat the duly elected president of the United State. The full penalty of TREASON should be exacted from the FBI, DOJ, FAKE NEWS, DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS who participated in this coordinated plot against the sovereign United State and our President. Correspondingly all those who are involved in financial espionage with other countries, selling our technology and secrets, and even conspiring to contravene the sovereignty of our border security should be arrested and given a swift trial and summarily EXECUTED.   23. I see this as another Republican event. Avenatti was contacting Nike for a campaign finance donation and the republicans got the FBI involved to crush the deal. Given all the airtime he was given he was obviously the candidate of choice for MSNBC and CNN There has to be another investigation .
