The nonprofit cited both the First Amendment and common law in arguing the case should not be so secret.

The case pertains to a witness that is only known as a corporation owned by a foreign government. The name of the company and the country have not been released. It is believed to be tied in with special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation that is looking at whether the Trump campaign colluded with Russia.

The Supreme Court issued a ruling Tuesday that will force the company to comply with a subpoena or continue paying a daily fine of $50,000 for not doing so.

The case is so secret an entire floor of a Washington, D.C. court was sealed off last month as lawyers for each side argued in front of a judge.

  1. This definitely proves by not releasing documents from what the Constitution states is to be a public trial is the injustice dept. and Judicial dept. is hiding crimes to protect the guilty. That is the only sane reason to hide public documents.

  2. Or perhaps it substantiates no wrong doing and they want to keep this thing going, it has been 2 years. If they had anything remotely incriminating they would be running to the news with it or it would somehow get leaked, ei: Blasey-Ford. Newsflash, the majority of businessman worldwide have business dealings internationally, that does not make for collusion. Move on. All the $$ spent on this investigation could have built the wall already.

  3. Why would these busybodies want to expose the person or persons coming forward? Just to get their little minds satisfied? Not everybody needs to know everything about every case. Their speculation could get someone killed. Besides, there are very few if any “journalists” left in America. What we have is a bunch of progressive authors trying to push their agenda for America on the rest of us who like things as they are and don’t believe in the nanny state where government is in control of every aspect of our lives.

  4. You gotta be kidding. Why show your lack, with these opinions? If you really don’t know just say you have no opinion. Have you taken a trip through Europe? Their borders are very stringent. If you don’t have the proper papers, you don’t enter. Every country has the right to control their own borders and there they respect the laws of the individual countries. I served four years over there in in our military and I know first hand how borders work. They WILL WORK HERE, TOO. It just doesn’t protect one country. Both benefit that protection. And it is really nice when the two countries help each other by honoring that Law of the side they are on. If you want to tell another country what they can or can’t do, then it is you that is out of order.

  5. Jan; you are right on! I am retired USAF military, a pilot and mechanical engineer and am simply amazed there are not more citizens uprising against the Democrat’s refusal to fund proper border protection like most civilized countries have.
