Special counsel Robert Mueller is asking a federal court in Virginia for 100 more blank subpoenas in the case against Paul Manafort, President Donald Trump’s former campaign manager.
The request came in a filing Wednesday that was posted by The Hill.
The subpoenas require the recipient to testify in the U.S. District Court in Alexandria, Virginia, on July 25, when Manafort’s trial on bank and fraud charges is set to begin. No further information was provided in the filing.
In May, court documents showed Mueller had filed for 70 blank subpoenas. And the special counsel asked for 150 blank subpoenas in June, the Washington Examiner reported.
The latest request comes amid an effort by Manafort’s defense team to delay the trial and move it from Alexandria to Roanoke, Virginia.
The judge overseeing the Alexandria case, T.S. Ellis, declined a request Wednesday from Manafort to stay at the regional jail where he has reportedly being treated like a VIP, and ordered him to be moved to behind bars in Alexandria.

A subpoena should be asked in a specific manner on a specific person because you have evidence against them or feel they have evidence against a person you are already holding an investigation upon. To just be asking for multiple blank subpoena’s means he doesn’t have the evidence he needs and is just doing a broad look and see attempt. This should not be allowed in my personal opinion. What is his next attempt subpoena’s all on Republicans in THE REPUBLIC OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA?
Trumps own fault. He has the right to demand the DOJ and FBI release those documents Nunez has been seeking for months. Sessions has also been keeping the documents from being released. Sessions is a plant from day one of The Deep State. Trump should have seen thru Sessions lies and fired him months ago. Trump should get Guiliani and Seculow to get together with the DOJ and FBI lawyers and go over all the documents in private. If any names need to be redacted, do it and Trump should then declassify them and turn them over to Nunez. Most of the problem now is Trumps own fault. He shouldn’t give a damn what the Democrats will say, just do it.
I have been advocating for Sessions to be fired for months. He was a plant for the Deep State from day one. Sessions recusal was preplanned by The Deep State before Trump even got elected. That is why he wanted to be AG so bad from day one. He recuses, Rosenstein takes over(as planned) and appoints Mueller. Mueller appoints all Democrats and especially the Pit Bull Enron liar. Sessions has been in on it from the beginning. If Trump wants to really Drain the Swamp, he needs Gregg Jarrett as AG and Rudy as FBI director. They both drive around with big pumps in the trunk of their cars and they will DRAIN THE SWAMP like quickly.
